Rida bin Mohammed Al-Haidar is the president of ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ’s General Commission of Audiovisual Media (GCAM) since July 2017. He is also a board member of Tihama Advertising and Public Relations Co. Al-Haidar is an independent director at the company since March 2016, and a board member of Misk Foundation since March 2012.

Al-Haidar attained a master’s degree in Public Administration from Harvard University, John F. Kennedy School of Government in 2014, a master’s degree in Communication, Culture and Technology from Georgetown University with an honorary certificate in International Business Diplomacy in 2006 and a bachelor’s degree in Multimedia Design and Development from the American University in Washington, DC in the year 2000.

On April 19, Al-Haidar said that the film sector would be an important contributor to the objectives of the National Transformation Plan and the ambitious vision of the Kingdom by establishing a Saudi media environment capable of developing the industry in the media, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

Al-Haidar added that the General Commission of Audiovisual Media is working to organize and develop the media sector in the Kingdom to become a strategic and investment tributary of the national economy, in addition to rehabilitating and supporting the local Saudi environment and presenting it to the world.

The statement also added that three more film screens were scheduled to be inaugurated in the third quarter of 2018 at the King Abdullah Financial Center.
