Ethiopian mother delivers baby in Lebanon airport restroom
  • A security official said that while she was conducting patrols inside the airport a passenger informed her that an Ethiopian woman was giving birth to a baby inside the restroom.
  • The Red Cross rushed to the mother’s aid, with pictures later showing the mother and baby recovering in hospital.

Cairo: Lebanon’s Beirut–Hariri International Airport witnessed an Ethiopian expectant mother deliver a newborn inside one of its restrooms.
The official Twitter account of the Lebanese Internal Security Forces released a video captioned: “A new birth of humanity at Beirut–Rafic Hariri International Airport.”
A security official said that while she was conducting patrols inside the airport a passenger informed her that an Ethiopian woman was giving birth to a baby inside the restroom.
Upon arriving at the restroom, the officer and the passenger found that the baby had been delivered.
They immediately comforted the mother and wiped the baby down with “tissues,” said the officer.
The Red Cross then rushed to the mother’s aid, with pictures later showing the mother and baby recovering in hospital.
