Oman’s petrol stations are going green, with the introduction of solar energy, the Times of Oman reported.

The initiative is scheduled to be completed by March 2018, and will be lead by Oman Oil marketing company.

It comes after the successful campaign by Shell Oman Marketing which saw several schools across the country install solar panels.

David Kalife, CEO at Oman Oil Marketing Company, said, “As a home-grown organization, it is our responsibility to support the Sultanate’s long-term renewable energy strategies and protect Oman’s environment.”
