PARIS: France’s Foreign Ministry said a Saudi-led coalition has “extracted” two French female journalists from war-torn Yemen.
Ministry spokeswoman Agnes Romatet-Espagne said Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian discussed how to bring them back safely to Riyadh during his visit to Ƶ on Thursday.
The journalists are freelancers working for Paris Match magazine. She said they were back in France on Friday. She couldn’t provide details on what happened during their reporting trip to Yemen, where they spent about two weeks.
Al Arabiya television reported Thursday the journalists had gone missing in an area of Yemen held by the Iran-aligned Houthi group.
