Information ministers of anti-terror states call for promoting values of tolerance, cultural diversity

MANAMA: Information ministers of countries calling for combating terrorism welcomed the US strategy toward Iran, the biggest state sponsor of terrorism, stressing the significance of combating terrorism and those who sponsor it.
In their meeting hosted by Manama on Sunday, the information ministers emphasized the need to address Qatar’s interference in the internal affairs of Arab countries and its systematic policy of subversion that supports political Islam that adopts terrorism as a means to achieve goals.
The ministers also attached great importance to addressing the hate speech sponsored by Qatar’s government and media, and the policy of isolating the Qatari people from their Gulf and Arab environment.
They called for promoting values of tolerance and cultural diversity, as well as positive interaction between communities, and highlighting the civilized image of the Gulf region.
Reinforcing joint media action to serve international efforts to combat extremism, terrorism and hate speech were also discussed.
