Ambassador lauds Saudi-Pakistan cooperation in security & defense

The reception was attended by senior Saudi officials, diplomats and members of the Pakistani community in Riyadh.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Ƶ, retired Vice Admiral Khan Hasham bin Saddique has praised the “excellent cooperation” between Pakistan and Ƶ in the field of security and defense.
The ambassador was speaking on the occasion of Pakistan’s 52nd Defense Day at a reception held at the Embassy of Pakistan in Riyadh.
He thanked Ƶ for standing by Pakistan “not just in times of need but at all times” and hoped that the cooperation between the two countries would be further strengthened under the wise leadership of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
In his address, Saddique highlighted the achievements of the Pakistan Armed Forces in their successful defense of the country from conventional and unconventional threats. He singled out the successes of Pakistan’s security and law enforcement apparatus, backed by the people of Pakistan, in their fight against terrorism and extremism. He reaffirmed his country’s continued efforts and commitment to the global fight against terrorism despite constraints.
“Over the last few years, Pakistan has launched the world’s largest military operations against terrorists, killing and arresting thousands of them. As a result, there has been a five-fold decrease in terrorist attacks in the country and the lives lost in them,” he said.
The event also showcased a short video highlighting the efforts and achievements of the Pakistan Armed Forces in the fight against terrorism.
Pakistan Defense Day is held on Sept. 6 every year to commemorate the Pakistani soldiers who lost their lives defending their country in the 1965 India-Pakistan war.
