ALKHOBAR: Minister of petroleum and Mineral Resources Ali Al-Naimi told officials in Beijing the Kingdom was ready to supply China with additional oil if required, the Saudi Press Agency said on Monday.
Al-Naimi met with Nur Bekri, the head of China's National Energy Administration, SPA said.
"In addition to the Saudi oil export to China, and the Kingdom's readiness to supply China with any additional quantities it needs, the other areas include joint investments in both countries in oil and marketing its products, as well as the exchange of experience, research and studies, and materials manufacturing and oil services," Al-Naimi was quoted as saying.
Al-Naimi's visit to China follows his trip to South Korea where, asked about whether he was worried about Chinese oil demand with the country's economic growth slowing down, he told Reuters in an interview last week: "We have seen no change in oil demand. We are still supplying the same volume as we have been supplying for some time."
